What is Japanese acupuncture? (Kiiko Matsumoto style)
The Kiiko Matsumoto style of acupuncture involves palpating (feeling) the abdomen to find imbalances in the organs and systems of the body and treatment begins immediately. In general, thinner needles are used, and insertions are much shallower in the Japanese style, as a result, it is virtually discomfort free. A typical Kiiko Matsumoto style acupuncture session begins with an assessment of the abdomen and the part of the body that is the cause of the complaint. The area of complaint could be a side effect of an internal and/or structural condition; this is diagnosed instantly by checking for an imbalance in the various critical points of the body. The patient can receive an instant feedback concerning the condition of their health. Each visit is typically an hour or so.
