Dr. Richard Santucci was born in the Bronx, NYC and graduated from All Hallows Institute. Upon his family moving to New Jersey he withdrew from Manhattan College and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1977.
He established his practice in Hackensack in late 1977. Noticing a large number of lower back injuries from improper lifting and job training he pioneered a pre-employment placement screening and training program that not only helped prevent injuries but significantly lowered workers compensation premiums and, in the process, garnered him national recognition from the American Chiropractic Association. He subsequently earned the post graduate degree of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Occupational Health (DABCOH). In 1998 he finished further post-graduate studies and was awarded the title of Certified Chiropractic Primary Care Physician (CCPCP) by the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic.
He is a former professor of advanced chiropractic analysis and technique at the New York Chiropractic College teaching interns how to treat difficult patients. He also taught post-graduate occupational health/industrial consulting and safety courses. He is a consultant/lecturer for both the Bergen County Utility Authority, the City of Hackensack as well as team Chiropractor for Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Professional affiliations are many and include three term past president of the Northern New Jersey Chiropractic Society, founding board member of the statewide Association of New Jersey Chiropractors (ANJC), founder of the New Jersey Chiropractic Forum, former member of the New York Chiropractic College Alumni Association board of directors, member of the Academy for the General Practice of Chiropractic, Official New Jersey State PBA Physician, former treasurer of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Bergen County, Inc.
Dr. Santucci is also a member of the Greater Hackensack Chamber of Commerce, Hackensack Unico, past philanthropic chairman and president of The Columbians – an Italian American Philanthropic Organization based in Hackensack, a member of the Italian American Police Society as well as the Fraternal Order of Police.
Among his awards are Outstanding Service as President of the Bergen, Passaic & Essex Counties Chiropractic Society from 1984 -1987; Meritorious Service to the Chiropractic Profession by the New Jersey Chiropractic Society 1985; Distinguished Service Award from the Northern New Jersey Chiropractic Society 1988 – 1993; Outstanding Effort Award from the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors in 2005 as first Chairman of the Membership Committee and a Distinguished Service Award from The Columbians for serving as President from 2006 – 2007.
Dr. Santucci is married to Linda and they have two boys, Richard A. Santucci, DC and Anthony P. Santucci. He currently owns and manages the Bergen Family Chiropractic Center on Main Street in Hackensack which provides chiropractic care, acupuncture and whole food nutrition. He lectures on many health based topics.
